Workplace Investigations

Jamie Rudman has more than thirty years of experience representing management in labor and employment matters.  She defends employers in state and federal lawsuits for wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, wage and contract disputes, and employment-related torts.  Jamie has substantial experience litigating single-plaintiff, class and collective actions, and responding to high-risk agency investigations.  She has represented employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and National Labor Relations Board, as well as the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Division of Labor Standards and Enforcement and city agencies throughout California.

Jamie provides counsel on all aspects of human resources management, including discipline and termination, leaves, layoffs, wage and hour issues, commission plans, employment contracts, executive compensation, and employee policies.  She also trains supervisors and management on a full range of labor and employment issues, and conducts and advises on sensitive workplace investigations. Jamie also serves as an independent mediator in employment disputes.

Jamie is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) and is a past Chair of NAMWOLF’s Labor and Employment Committee.  Jamie previously served as a Director of JVS of Los Angeles, which provides career training and placement services to over 30,000 people annually, as Chair of the Alameda County Bar Association’s (ACBA) Labor and Employment Section, and on the ACBA Judicial Appointments Evaluation Committee. She was awarded the ACBA Distinguished Service Award in 2016.

A 1993 graduate of UCLA Law School, Jamie received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy of Industrialized Societies, with University Honors, from UC Berkeley in 1990.  Jamie frequently speaks before business and legal groups on a wide range of employment law topics. Jamie handles matters throughout California and leads the firm’s Oakland office.
