We are selective about our clients and the matters we agree to handle. We are just as selective about the professionals we invite to join us. The sophistication of our practice and the expectations of our clients make outstanding drafting and communications skills an absolute requirement for all attorneys and staff.
Opportunities for Professional Growth
All firm professionals are actively mentored by senior attorneys. Associates are given significant responsibility, meaningful oversight by experienced senior attorneys, and regular client contact with executives and in-house counsel. Associates who wish to develop their own clients are financially rewarded for doing so. More importantly, in addition to working with our junior attorneys to develop superior lawyering skills, our senior attorneys are dedicated to helping junior attorneys acquire business development skills and contacts. Attorneys who wish to engage in professional organizations are actively encouraged and supported in doing so.
Diversity and Inclusion Are Central to Who We Are
Sanchez Amador & Reyes is certified 100% minority-owned and all our partners are women or attorneys of color. We pride ourselves on the unique backgrounds of our lawyers and staff, each with a different perspective but united in the common goals of excellence, ethically serving our clients, and learning from one another. We embrace our diversity as a core strength, enabling us to generate more creative solutions for our clients and a more inclusive and interesting workplace for us all. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, national origin, disability, pregnancy, or any other classification protected by law. We actively participate in professional organizations dedicated to improving opportunities for attorneys of color and women in the profession.
We are an active member of NAMWOLF, the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms. Our partners have continuously served as members of the NAMWOLF board of directors since 2009. Our lawyers have chaired NAMWOLF’s Admissions, Communications, Emerging Leaders, Labor & Employment, CLE, Annual Meeting, and other committees.
Several of our lawyers are members of NELC, the National Employment Law Council. Our lawyers have held NELC Board seats since 2007 and chaired its Annual Conference, the NELC Academy, Webinars, and Los Angeles Area Reception committees.
Our attorneys helped found the NELC Academy in 2011, an advanced-skills program for competitively selected junior minority employment defense associates from across the country, and several of our lawyers serve on its faculty and as mentors to Academy Fellows.
We helped found NELC’s In-House Career Accelerator Program (ICAP), to assist new in-house minority attorneys in successfully transitioning from law firms to corporate law departments.
We sponsor activities of NAMWOLF, CMCP, NELC, Hispanic National Bar Association, Black Women Lawyers, Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), and other similar organizations. Our lawyers have raised many thousands of sponsorship and scholarship dollars for these organizations, and recruited dozens of members, volunteers, and speakers.
Family is Central to Our Success
Our families are the foundation of our success as lawyers. SA&R partners and managers encourage all employees to make time for family. We support and encourage alternative work arrangements for lawyers with parental and caregiving responsibilities. We provide flexible scheduling, work-from-home options, generous health care and retirement benefits, and paid parental leave.
Applications for Employment
If these qualities appeal to you, we encourage you to apply for employment with us by emailing a cover letter, resume, and list of references to our Firm Administrator, Francine Miller at miller@sar-llp.com. Please do not contact us by phone or fax regarding employment. Please note that we generally do not hire lawyers nor support staff without significant law firm experience.
